Welcome Picnic

GREEN Charter School held the first "Welcome Picnic" on September 14th , 2013. There were very enjoyable moments. Parents had a chance to meet each other and enjoyed the perfect weather and the barbeque!

Here are some of our parents' quotes;

"Our family thoroughly enjoyed the welcome picnic this past Saturday. Thank you to all of the Green Charter School Staff and their families for sacrificing their Saturday to welcome all of us".

" The moments that you cannot buy".

"Thanks for the awesome picnic; we all had a great time".

Small Hands offer Big Help!

Students at GREEN Charter School donated $1,345 to the Red Cross to help the victims of the Philippines Typhoon. It's the first time that our students have raised funds to help those in need in our global community.

A check of $1,345 was presented to Ginger Mauney, a director of community resources at American Red Cross, on behalf of the GREEN Charter students.

Memorial Day assembly

In honor of the men and women who died in service to our country, GREEN Charter held it's first Memorial Day assembly. Two of our parents shared their experiences in the military and the special meaning of Memorial Day for them as veterans. Fourth grade students shared Memorial Day letters and art work created as part of their social studies unit. The highlight of the program was when Lauren Dickert's brother, who has been stationed in Japan for the past 18 months, made a surprise entrance at the end of the assembly! The program served as a wonderful reminder to the students of the true meaning of Memorial Day and the sacrifices made by all who serve our country. GREEN Charter thanks all the men and women who have served and continue to serve our great country and wishes them a Happy Memorial Day! Below is a news clip from Fox Carolina news that was featured last night.
