In honor of the men and women who died in service to our country, GREEN Charter held it's first Memorial Day assembly. Two of our parents shared their experiences in the military and the special meaning of Memorial Day for them as veterans. Fourth grade students shared Memorial Day letters and art work created as part of their social studies unit. The highlight of the program was when Lauren Dickert's brother, who has been stationed in Japan for the past 18 months, made a surprise entrance at the end of the assembly! The program served as a wonderful reminder to the students of the true meaning of Memorial Day and the sacrifices made by all who serve our country. GREEN Charter thanks all the men and women who have served and continue to serve our great country and wishes them a Happy Memorial Day! Below is a news clip from Fox Carolina news that was featured last night.
